THE EFFICIENT SUPPLY OF HOT WATER
Efficiency is always a key word invoked by hospitals, universities and factory and warehouse operators when they analyse day-to-day costs, and in one important area the supply of hot water it is often possible to make substantial savings.
The latest Stokvis steam-to-water packaged plate heat exchangers give steam a new life by using it to provide almost instantaneous hot water. They now incorporate a second fast acting electro mechanical safety valve which provides a “belt and braces” capacity to the already high standards of inherent safety. The established mechanical modulating safety valve which features a manual reset has been “beefed up” by the additional of a new unit which shuts off immediately on the failure of the electric power supply or a signal from a remote, independent, overheat thermostat.
The heat losses experienced with hot water storage units are also eliminated as hot water is produced within seconds and on demand with the steam-to-water system. The flueing problems associated with direct gas-fired water heaters are also eliminated.
