STOKVIS WINS MAJOR PACKAGED BOILER CONTRACT IN NIGERIA

Stokvis Energy Systems has supplied a 200kW packaged boiler system to Nigeria , courtesy of Taba Nig.Ltd, their sole distributor as part of a multi-million gas reduction station contract.

Stokvis area sales manager Andy Russell explains:
“Gas has to be kept at high pressure to enable it to be moved through pipelines to various parts of the country, but when the gas reaches its destination the pressure has to be reduced to a workable level to enable it to be used."

“There is a direct relationship between the gas pressure and temperature, as you reduce the pressure, so the temperature drops. Our equipment is employed to stop the gas from freezing as its pressure is brought down by ensuring it remains above 5 deg C.”

The Heatpak packaged boiler system supplied by Stokvis includes three whisper-quiet 100kW Econoflame R30 wall-mounted boilers and an Econopress PU131 pressurisation set.

The R30 boiler series offers a range of four, high efficiency, fully modulating, fully condensing, ultra low NOx, extremely compact, gas-fired boilers.

The R30/100 measures 896mm high by 560mm wide by 340mm deep. It has a water capacity of 10.3 litres and a maximum working pressure of 6bar. Nominal heat output at 80/60 deg C is 17.6 to 88.2kW, and at 40/30 deg C it is 19.2 to 96.3kW.

The fully automatic and self-contained Econopress PU131 3bar single pump, chassis-mounted pressurisation unit is designed to maintain the required system pressure.

It is compact – measuring just 680mm wide by 485mm deep by 520mm high – and eliminates corrosion since there is no contact between the air and water in the system.

Andy Russell concluded: “We are delighted to obtain this contract – it is a ‘specialist‘ application - just our forte  – and we look forward to other similar contracts in the future.”
