STOKVIS OFFERS IMPROVED SERVICE FOR WEYMOUTH HOTEL

Ageing boilers and the difficulty in obtaining spare parts quickly and at a reasonable price prompted the Owners and Management Team at the Crown Hotel in the centre of Weymouth to bite the bullet and replace the principle boiler.

H W Smith & Sons (Contracting) Ltd, building services specialist responsible for all the boiler servicing at L W King Partners, invited Stokvis Energy Systems to submit their proposals to resolve the problems of the Crown Hotel's plant room, with a view also to incorporate energy efficient measures and a reduction of carbon emissions.

In addition to installing two new Econoflame R307 fully modulating boilers, the decision was taken to split the supply of hot water into two separate zones. To meet the demands of 40 bedrooms an E4A 270 Econoplate packaged plate heat exchanger and a new buffer vessel were installed. Then an E4A 150 unit and a second buffer vessel were fitted to provide hot water for a further 21 bedrooms.

The  Mechanical  Contracts Manager of H W Smith & Sons. Gordon Luff, commented: "L W King Partners own four hotels, various bars and restaurants within Weymouth . We do all the maintenance work required on their plumbing and heating. Stokvis was able to supply the boilers and plate heat exchangers to guarantee plentiful hot water comfort in the Crown Hotel. We added the Econopress to enable us to convert the system from a standard on to a pressurised system".

Stokvis Energy Systems offers a comprehensive range of oil and gas fired boilers, as well as plate heat exchangers and warm air heaters to suit all sizes of retail, leisure, commercial and healthcare or education properties. The company also offers fully packaged plant rooms to shorten installation times and reduce the disruption on refurbishment as well as new build contracts.
